Ukrainian Human Rights Commissioner plans to leave for Moscow to meet with the head of FSB
The Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Lyudmila Denisova, plans to meet with the director of the Russian FSB, Aleksandr Bortnikov.
The Ukrainian Ombudsperson made a corresponding statement during a meeting with the relatives of Ukrainian sailors captured by Russia.
According to Denisova, one of the main topics at the meeting with Bortnikov will be the issue of the health status of wounded sailors.
As the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, I almost daily communicate with the Ombudsperson of the Russian Federation Tatyana Moskalkova and with the Chairman of the Council for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights under the President of the Russian Federation Mikhail Fedotov. I am trying to get all the information about the conditions of detention and the condition of our guys.
The Ombudsperson said she plans to hold a meeting in Moscow with these Russian officials as well.
Earlier, Ukraine filed an application to the European Court of Human Rights regarding the seizure of Ukrainian sailors from the Kerch Strait by Russia.
