The U.S. House of Representatives has passed a bill aimed at preventing Russia's participation in G7 meetings. This was reported by Voice of America.

Thus, the United States opposes the restoration of the G8 format with the participation of the Russian Federation.

The document prohibits the Washington administration from using federal funds to support or facilitate Russia's participation in upcoming G7 meetings.

This measure will cease to operate after the US Secretary of State and Director of National Intelligence assure lawmakers that Russia has stopped any interference in U.S. elections or election processes of other G7 countries, NATO, and the EU.

The country [Russia] must also end its occupation of Crimea, South Ossetia, and Abkhazia as well as withdraw its troops from Transnistria.

The initiative will be considered by the Senate.
