Tomos on autocephaly of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine signed by all members of the Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate
Today, on January 9, in Istanbul, all members of the Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate signed Tomos on the autocephaly of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
The Archbishop of Chernihiv and Nizhyn of Orthodox Ukrainian Church Evstratiy (Zorya) informed about the event.
According to him, the Synod members put their signatures in the morning during a meeting of the Holy Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate.
I wonder if Moscow creatives have already come up with another “explanation” on the issue “why this autocephaly is not proper”? “These are the wrong bees and they give the wrong honey”?
Earlier, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin told QHA media that receiving Tomos on autocephaly by the Orthodox Church of Ukraine means true spiritual freedom.
In turn, the third president of Ukraine, Viktor Yushchenko, said to QHA media that from now on the Ukrainian Church begins to work to unite the nation.
On January 6, 2019, the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew officially presented the signed Tomos for the Orthodox Church of Ukraine to Primate of the Ukrainian National Command, Metropolitan Epiphanius of Kyiv and All Ukraine. The ceremony took place in the Patriarchal Church of St. George in Istanbul
