The US State Department called on Russia to free Ukrainian sailors. Washington promises to raise the price for the Kremlin
Russia must release the Ukrainian sailors, otherwise consequences and the pain will grow over time, the US State Department stated, calling once again to release the Ukrainian sailors detained in the Black Sea near the Kerch Strait.
The statement of the US State Department noted that Washington will not lose sight of the situation with the Ukrainian sailors.
We want the Russians to absorb the message that they need to release the crews or there will be consequences and the pain will grow over time. As – and I think that’s been our consistent message to the Russians across the board for various forms of aggressive behavior, and this will be no exception, – a Senior State Department official said.
The Speaker of the American Foreign Service Heather Nauert also appealed the Kremlin with a call to release the Ukrainian sailors.
In her microblog on Twitter, she recalled that 10 days had passed since the detention of the Ukrainians.
The day before, the Prosecutor General of Ukraine published a video, which reconstructed the events of capture of the Ukrainian sailors and ships by the Russian FSB in the Black Sea.
