Russia will not succeed in promoting the "Russian world" concept in Ukraine through "soft power," Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba says.
Vladimir Putin's spokesperson Dmitry Peskov earlier claimed Ukraine as a part of the territory covered by the so-called "Russian world."
"Moscow wasn't able to promote 'Russian world' in Ukraine with tanks. Soft power won't work either," Kuleba he wrote on Twitter on February 9, 2021.
He said that the "Russian world" is uniformity erasing identities other than Russian.
"Ukrainian world is diversity and freedom. Thus Ukrainian-speaking, Russian-speaking and all other Ukrainians defend it," he added.
Speaking on the topics discussed at the meeting of the Security Council chaired by President Vladimir Putin on February 5, Press Secretary of Russian President Dimitry Peskov declared Ukraine as a part of "Russian World."
Another question on what tools will be applied to promote the "Russian world" in Ukraine, Peskov said it would be "soft power."
