Seimas of Lithuanian recognized deportation of Crimean Tatar people as genocide
Today, on June 6, the Parliament of the Republic of Lithuania recognized the deportation of the Crimean Tatar people as genocide.
The Head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov informed on the decision on his Facebook page.
He said that of the 79 MPs present, 77 voted in favor.
Not a single vote “against.” Thanks to the Lithuanian people and Lithuanian politicians! – Chubarov wrote.
Earlier QHA media reported that on May 9, the Seimas of Latvia adopted a statement on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the deportation of the Crimean Tatars, which says that the Soviet government carried out genocide against the Crimean Tatar people.
