The opening of the bridge across the Kerch Strait was designated by the Russians as the most important event in 2018, according to the results of a survey at the Levada Center.
Respondents were asked: “Which of the listed events of the outgoing 2018 year do you consider the most important?” They could choose more than one answer.
The top ten included four events related to Ukraine.

Among the events that scored the least of the voices of the respondents were: Oleg Sentsov’s hunger strike (3%) and torture of prisoners in FSIN institutions (5%).
The survey was conducted on December 13–19, 2018 for a representative all-Russian sample of urban and rural populations. 1600 respondents were interviewed at home.
