Russian security officials searched and questioned journalist who wrote about war in Ukraine. Currently she is at home.
“The Investigative Committee of Russia confirmed the detention of Yulia Polukhina. According to the agency, the searches and detention of the journalist were carried out as part of a criminal case on the organization of a criminal community, theft, banditry and robbery, which was instituted due to the activities of PMC E.N.O.T,” the statement said.
Searches took place at Yulia Polukhina’s dwelling place from 6 to 10 in the morning.
During the interrogation, the lawyer was not allowed to see the journalist.
According to recent reports, Polukhina was released. She is at home now.
The editors connect the investigative actions with the materials that were published in the Novaya Gazeta and related to the actions of illegal armed groups in the territory of Donbas, as well as with the investigation of the facts of smuggling.
“Then the final formula will be modelled [for exchange of prisoners – Ed.]. However, as long as the verification of the majority of the exchange participants has not been carried out, it can be assumed that will be possible to exchange a little more than 200 people in total,” the message says.
