In Ukraine, after the statement by President Volodymyr Zelensky on the approval of the Steinmeier formula, protests of citizens who disagree with his actions began.
For two consecutive days, protests have been held outside the Office of the President and on Independence Square. Initially, the leader of the "National Corps" Andrei Biletsky announced the indefinite nature of the action "against surrender", and the representative of Svoboda faction Yuri Sirotyuk announced the "treason of Zelensky."
Nationalists and war veterans in the Donbass have already announced the creation of the "Headquarters of the resistance."
Disagreement with the president was also expressed by a number of political parties represented in the Rada - European Solidarity, Voice and Fatherland, although their rhetoric is somewhat different.
In the Ukrainian capital, the protesters brought a symbolic fir-tree (Yolka) to the Independence Square, hinting at the events of five years ago, from which the Revolution of Dignity began.
A thousand people gathered on the main square of the country, and several thousand came to protest at Bankova Street.
The rally participants read out five demands to the Ukrainian authorities, among which - to prohibit a special legal regime in the Donbass, which limits the sovereignty of Ukraine or the operation of national legislation in its individual territories.
In addition to Kyiv, Ukrainians came out to protest against the Steinmeier formula in Cherkasy, Kharkiv, Odesa, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Dnipro, Kryvyi Rig, Zaporizhya, Lviv, Mariupol, Kramatorsk and other cities.
In Cherkasy, several hundred people burned tires in front of the SBU building.
And in Kharkov, nationalists filed a request to hold accountable Ukrainian representatives in the Minsk Tripartite Contact Group.
In Lviv, protesters against the surrender of Ukraine to the Kremlin transferred their demands to the regional authorities and the representative of the SBU.
In Zaporizhya and Dnipro, the rallies were held near the buildings of the regional state administrations.
In Kherson, on Freedom Square, the action “No surrender” gathered as many as two rallies. Participants in both actions came with state flags.
People held small posters, printed pages with the slogans "No surrender!", "Today, Steinmeier formula is name for Putin formula," "No sale of land!"
