During a working trip to Donbas, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky visited the positions on the frontline of defence, where the largest number of violations of the comprehensive and permanent ceasefire regime was recorded.

The defenders told the president about the situation on the frontline as the Head of State talked to the servicemen, the press service of the presidential office reported.

"Thank you for keeping people calm and defending our land. You are a true example of heroism and dedication. We remember every warrior who died defending our state," Zelensky said.

The attendees honoured the memory of soldiers who died in the battles for the sovereignty and independence of Ukraine with a moment of silence.

The president also had lunch with servicemen and presented state awards and valuable gifts to Ukraine's defenders.

As reported, the Russian delegation to the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) initiated to resolve Donbas issue, did not agree to continue the ceasefire which expired on April 1.
