Arsen Avakov's resignation could be considered at the parliament on Wednesday or Thursday, Member of Ukrainian Parliament Yelyzaveta Yasko (Servant of the People faction) reported on Facebook. Avakov became Ukraine's acting interior minister on February 22, 2014, after Vitaliy Zakharchenko was dismissed from the post. Since February 27, 2014, Avakov has served as Ukraine's interior minister in the governments led by Arseniy Yatsenyuk (2014-2016), Volodymyr Groysman (2016-2019), Oleksiy Honcharuk (2019-2020), and Denys Shmyhal (2020-2021).
