More than two hundred Ukrainians illegally imprisoned by militants of the "LDPR" – SSU
The occupiers illegally imprisoned 223 citizens of Ukraine on the invaded by Russia territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, reports the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) in response to a request of Radio Liberty.
According to the information of the Joint Center for the Coordination of the search and release of persons illegally deprived of liberty persons in the occupied areas of Donbas, another 258 people are reported missing on the territory of certain districts of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
According to the words said in June 2018 by the ex-head of SSU Vasyl Hrytsak 113 Ukrainian hostages were detained on the occupied territories of Donbas. According to him, the representatives of certain districts of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions within the framework of Minsk format confirmed only 24 people was detained: 18 – in the certain districts of the Donetsk region and 6 – in certain districts of the Luhansk region.
“Then the final formula will be modelled [for exchange of prisoners – Ed.]. However, as long as the verification of the majority of the exchange participants has not been carried out, it can be assumed that will be possible to exchange a little more than 200 people in total,” the message says.
