Mirror sanctions. Ukraine supplemented the list of prohibited goods from Russia

May 15 at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine the list of Russian goods prohibited from import into Ukraine was expanded.

The new restrictions are mirror to the actions and decisions of the Russian government, the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers reports.

In particular, groups of industrial goods, mineral fertilizers, agricultural products, vehicles were banned for importing into Ukraine from Russia.

The government also supported the introduction of a special duty, which will be applied from August 1, 2019, which was previously announced by Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman.

Budget revenues from this duty should be sent to a special fund and spent on import substitution. The amount of duty will be a percentage of the value of goods imported from Russia.

On April 18, Russia imposed a ban on the export of oil and oil products to Ukraine. It was also reported on the expansion of the ban on the import of some Ukrainian goods. According to experts, this might lead to a shortage of fuel.
