FSB did not allow a Crimean Tatar to cross into Crimea and illegally kept him for a whole day - Chubarov
The border guard service of the FSB of Russia did not allow the citizen of Ukraine, the Crimean Tatar Rustem Rashidov to enter the annexed Crimea and kept him at the Chongar checkpoint the whole day.
The Head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov reported about the incident on his Facebook page.
The Russian FSB officers cross-examined the detained Crimean Tatar thoroughly. Most of all, the invaders were interested in the years of Rustem Rashidov’s studies in the Azov madrasa, in which he studied before the Russian occupation of Crimea.
According to Chubarov, the 25-year-old Rashidov, who decided to visit his sister’s family in Bakhchysarai, has never entered the peninsula since the illegal annexation of the Crimea.
During the day, Rustem managed to briefly talk on the phone several times with his parents, who were shocked by what had happened.
“After a long grueling interrogation, the Russian occupiers declared a ban on entry “into the territory of Russia” and ordered him to return to mainland Ukraine,” Chubarov informed.
QHA-media previously reported, that the repressions of Russia against the Crimean Tatars and Ukrainians in Crimea are equated with to ethnic cleansing by the international human rights organization Freedom House.
