Balukh was taken from colony in the Tver region to Moscow. Where exactly the Ukrainian is sent and why is unknown
Political prisoner Volodymyr Balukh was convoyed from the Russian colony in Torzhok, Tver Oblast, to Moscow. The place where he is being sent is still unknown.
Olga Dinze, the lawyer of the Kremlin’s prisoner, informed about his transfer, as cited by Hromadske.
Today I found out that he was transferred to pre-trial detention center No. 2 in Moscow, it is not yet clear – to Lefortovo or Butyrka. Perhaps he is being sent to another correctional institution and Moscow is an an intermediary destination, – Dinze said.
She also said that she did not know the reasons for such a transfer.
QHA media reported that on July 30, Volodymyr Balukh was again placed in the punishment cell of the Russian colony No. 4 of the city of Torzhok. After he was transferred to the Tver region in January 2019, he was sent to a punishment cell six times already, where the state of health of the political prisoner has noticeably worsened.
On June 27, the Ukrainian activist, convicted by a “court” in the annexed Crimea, allegedly for beating the “head of the temporary detention facility” and for illegal acquisition, sale and possession of weapons, again went on hunger strike. On January 25, 2019, the “Kerch City Court” rejected the application of Balukh’s defense for his parole. After this, the political prisoner was transported to Russia.
