In the next three years, the “authorities” of Crimea plan to install 150 new security posts at bus stations and in the ports of the illegally annexed peninsula, explaining it with the fight against terrorism.

The corresponding plan was presented in the program of development of the transport complex of the Crimea for 2019-2021, approved by the decree of the “government” of the Crimea.

These measures are expected to cost more than 2 billion rubles from the Crimean budget. This year only, about 1.4 billion rubles of subsidies will be allocated to ensure security in the transport sector to legal entities that are not state institutions.

The cost of “anti-terror” in the program of development of the Crimean transport industry constitute a significant share. The total amount of funding for the program is about 17 billion rubles, of which 2 billion rubles will be aimed at preventing possible terrorist attacks.

To date, there are 4 sea trading ports in Crimea (Yevpatoria, Kerch, Feodosiya, Yalta), Kerch sea fishing port and Kerch ferry. In addition, there are 59 bus stations and 3 bus terminals in Crimea. Thus, the number of guard posts to be installed is almost twice the number of available transport facilities.

After the annexation of the Crimea, the occupying power takes various restrictive measures on the peninsula, explaining it with the need to combat terrorism. For example, numerous metal fences were installed around bus stations, and during many public events, people are forced to pass through metal detectors.
