Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers terminated the agreement on cooperation in the field of tourism with the Russian Federation.
The relevant decision approved during the Cabinet meeting on March 31, was published on the government portal.
"Termination of this Agreement in the field of tourism is a reasonable long-awaited step, given the Russian aggression. It is also an occasion to focus even more on domestic Ukrainian tourism. We have what to focus on and show guests of our country," said Minister of Culture and Information Policy Oleksandr Tkachenko.
It was signed in 1999
"The document is designed to terminate the validity of the Agreement signed in 1999, as due to Russia's armed aggression, actual cooperation in the tourism industry has been suspended, and there are no prospects for such cooperation in the future," the government report reads.
The adoption of this resolution by the Government was the final stage in the implementation of domestic procedures necessary for the termination of the Agreement.
