Russia's 'decree' on land ownership in Crimea reinforces the basis for international sanctions - U.S.

The United States noted that the Russian administration’s decision of banning foreign citizens to own land in Crimea creates a basis for strengthening sanctions against Moscow.

The U.S. Embassy in Kyiv made a statement regarding the situation saying, “Russia’s new ‘decree’ restricting ownership of most land in Crimea to Russians simply reinforces the basis for international sanctions. Again we firmly reiterate: Crimea is Ukraine.”
