Refat Chubarov, President of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People (QTMM), stated that the invader administration of Crimea deliberately conceals the real situation related to the coronavirus outbreak in the peninsula.

Commenting on social media, QTMM President Chubarov said, “Russian invaders deliberately mislead about the nature and consequences of a new infectious disease, hiding real data about coronavirus cases in Crimea. The activities of the invaders create a false feeling of safety and unnecessary panic among most Crimean residents.”

Chubarov stated that it is essential to regularly publish information on Crimea provided by all organizations with expertise on the subject including the World Health Organization (WHO), to support Crimean Tatars and Ukrainian citizens in Crimea. He also said that it is needed to analyze the actions carried out by the invader administration of the Crimea in the context of the coronavirus outbreak.

“We will make every effort under the international human rights law to force Russia to take responsibility as an occupying state.”
