Investigation from Ukraine against illegal home searches in Bakhchisarai

General Directorate of the National Police of the Crimean Autonomous Republic of Ukraine and the City of Akyar (Sevastopol), launched a criminal investigation against illegal searches to the Crimean Tatars’ houses in the Bakhchisarai region of the occupied Crimea on 11 March 2020.

In the statement made by the General Directorate of the National Police of Ukraine noted, “In the grounds of 7 illegal searches organized in the houses of the Crimean Tatars by the law enforcement authorities of the occupying government in Bakhchisarai on March 11, General Directorate of the National Police of the Crimean Autonomous Republic of Ukraine and the City of Akyar (Sevastopol) filed a lawsuit under Article 162 (2) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of housing immunity).”

It has noted that the procedural directive has provided by the Prosecutor’s Office of the Crimean Autonomous Republic of Ukraine, and the criminals could be sentenced to prison for up to five years.
