The so-called “Crimean Tatar Council”, operating under the so-called President of Crimea under Russian occupation, blamed
Turkey to remain impassive to the Crimean Tatars living in Crimea, and charged Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to encourage the emigration of Crimean Tatars from the Crimea.

Kremlin-driven so-called “Crimean Tatar Council”, published a “report” on the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s messages regarding the status of the occupied Crimea and Crimean Tatars, during his official visit on February 3, 2020.

In the statement of the so-called Council, which also included the lie that Crimea, which was occupied by Russia, was “a region of Russia as a result of the so-called referendum made in 2014”, Crimean Tatars, who live on the mainland of Ukraine, were described as ‘diaspora’ and declared, “Neither Zelenskiy nor Erdogan are the authorized representatives of the Crimean Tatar people and do not have the right to determine their fate.

Besides, Russian collaborators who claim that Ankara is completely apathetic to the Crimean Tatars living in Motherland Crimea, declared that Turkey’s government does not support Crimean Tatars, either financially or morally.

Collaborators accusing President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to contribute to the migration of the Crimean Tatars from Crimea said,

“The last visit of the Turkish leader to Ukraine is related to the statement of building 500 houses for the Crimean Tatars living in the Kherson region of Ukraine. Thus, the President of Turkey to promote the migration of the Crimean Tatars from the Crimea, acts disrespectful to our people’s historical memory, which developed as a result of complex ethnogenetic and migration processes in the Crimean Peninsula.”

Turkey does not accept the illegal annexation of Crimea

On the other side, the “Crimean Tatar Council” led by Russian invaders accused Erdogan of “supporting the propaganda campaign based on wrongdoings and misinformation about the Crimea and Crimean Tatars” regarding the statements he made during his visit to Ukraine. As it is known, the occupation and annexation process of Russia has been continuing since 2014 in Crimea, the homeland of the Crimean Tatar people. The pressures and human rights violations against the Crimean Tatar people are getting terrible every day. In Crimea, pressures and rights violations continue, especially against Crimean Tatars. Turkey’s attitude of not supporting illegal annexation of Crimea since the beginning of the occupation causes discomfort foremost for Kremlin authority and the collaborators in occupied Crimea.

Answer from Erdogan to the statements of Russia: We did not recognize the annexation of Crimea, we will not!

Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had a visit to Ukraine on February 3, 2020, and had welcomed with an official ceremony by President Zelenskiy. The national leader of the Crimean Tatar people, Jemilev, also was at the ceremony. Erdogan, after his contacts that promote Ukraine-Turkey strategic cooperation, spoke the following words on the visit:

“Again I stress, as Turkey, we do not recognize the illegal annexation of Crimea. I would like to confirm that our support will continue the same for the sovereignty of Ukraine and its territorial integrity, including Crimea. We support attempts to end the humanitarian crisis in the region. We closely monitor the situation of the Crimean Tatars who had to leave their homeland after the illegal annexation of Crimea. Together with the Ukrainian authorities, we will continue to support the Crimean Tatar Turks, which are the main elements of this country.”
