Vice President of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People (QTMM), Ukrainian Deputy Ahtem Chiygoz stated that the constitutional amendments to be accepted in Russia is a challenge for Ukraine and the whole world, and Russia’s military aggression against Ukraine will expand.

Speaking to the Crimean News Agency (QHA), Chiygoz said, “Actually, this is nothing new. Putin does not trust anyone and does not want to withdraw. He has a very manic mission to take over all the territory that used to belong to the Russian empire and is doing his best to fulfil his duty. So he challenges Ukraine and the whole world. I await clear messages and decisions from the world leaders such as Macron, Merkel and Trump. This murderer of the 21st century should have already been judged in the Nuremberg Criminal Court. In this situation, Ukraine has to be ready for greater political and military aggression by Russia. I have no doubts that aggression will advance because Putin’s action plan is clear. On the other hand, Europe and the USA should impose greater (solemn) sanctions against this beast.”

Additionally, Chiygoz stated that the Constitutional amendments in Russia will not affect the activities on the liberation of Crimea and said:

“The abolition of the Crimean occupation does not depend on Putin. The abolition of the occupation depends primarily on the extensive and powerful positions of Ukraine, the alliance of its all international partners on this issue and their readiness to act. If all the above circumstances are met, Russia will be isolated and as a result occupied territories will be released.”

Lastly, Chiygoz added that after the adoption of new amendments to the Russian Constitution, the issue of the occupied Crimea will increasingly become tense.
