Canadian Foreign Minister: We are ready to help Ukraine to take Crimea back
Canadian Foreign Minister Francois-Philippe Champagne reported that his country supports Ukraine to resolve the occupied Crimean issue and end the occupation on the peninsula.
Speaking to the Ukrainian press, Champagne said, “Of course, Canada is ready to help with this (the end of the occupation in Crimea). We are constantly trying to remind the world that the invasion of Crimea is illegal. Therefore, if Ukraine invites, we would like to join the negotiation group on the Crimea.”
Champagne also reminded that Canada provided about $ 207 million in funding for public administration reform and strengthening the rule of law in Ukraine. Canadian Foreign Minister Champagne said, “Ukraine enshrines in the hearts of Canadians. There are very few countries which Canadian diplomacy works in the context of trade, military cooperation and politics. This is how we work with Ukraine.”
