Currently, 32,500 Russian soldiers are deployed in the occupied Crimea including 11,500 land force troops.

Commander of the Joint Forces of Ukraine’s Armed Forces Serhiy Nayev informed that 200 armoured vehicles, 31 tanks, 100 artillery systems, 34 helicopters, 63 planes, 684 units of military equipment, 32,500 Russian servicepersons, including 11,500 members of a land force, currently stay on the territory of occupied Crimea.

Commander Nayev said, “Certainly, the data is accurate. I want to add that the land force itself numbers 11,500 people. The entire composition (32,500 Russian militaries) in the temporarily occupied territory includes the Russian Navy, as well as air defence forces and equipment. The land force consists of two brigades and one battalion.”

Earlier, Serhiy Nayev stated that the Ukrainian military had considered several scenarios of a possible Russian attack along the border to allow water to flow from the Dnipro river into the North Crimean Canal.
