Ukraine to start repaying IMF credit

Ukraine to start repaying IMF credit KYIV (QHA) - On February 7, Ukraine is to effect the first payment of the credit to the amount of UAH 4.6 billion (about USD 580 million) to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Ukrinform has reported citing the Delo newspaper.
According to information, it will be the debut payment for 3.5 years since the time Ukraine received the first tranche of the stand-by credit from the IMF.
This is the smallest payment out of four expected this year. In total in 2012, Ukraine should return USD 3.5 billion of the principal without interest to the IMF.
Next payments should be held in May, August and September-October: by USD 1 billion each.
