The service will initially be provided free of charge – the carrier says that “After this period, passengers will be able to access the Internet via an access code, which will be available for credit card purchase on board the aircraft via the service provider‘s portal pages”, according to the European media centre.
Turkish Airlines says its passengers will be able to access “high-speed, unlimited internet with laptops, tablets, smartphones or any other device that is WLAN-enabled”, as well as virtual private networks (VPN).
The B777-300ER uses Panasonic’s Planet IFE system, which has also provided passengers with live in-flight TV since the aircraft was launched last year.
