Qurultay to determine the party Crimean Tatars will go to elections with

KYIV, 08.10.11 (QHA) – The political party, with which the Crimean Tatars will go to elections of deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, will be determined by the National Congress – Qurultay of the Crimean Tatar people. The Chairman of the Majlis of the Crimean Tatar people, MP Mustafa Cemil has said this to journalists in Kyiv.
He recalled a recent meeting with the leader of the political party UDAR, Vitalii Klychko.
“We had a friendly and familiarization meeting. However, it was held behind closed doors. But for some reason the mass media spread information that the Crimean Tatars will go to the parliamentary elections with Klychko’s party. This is not true and cannot be true, because a decision with whom to go to the elections is taken at the National Congress – Qurultay,” Mr. Cemil said.
He noted that the Qurultay is usually conducted two or three weeks before the elections.
“So far, we are engaged in consultations with all political forces, including Klychko’s political party. I should note that we have the same opinion in many issues, but I want to point out the importance of the fact that the party should be passing, because the number of Crimean Tatar voters is not large enough to determine the matter of passability. We will continue consultations on this matter,” the Majlis Chairman concluded.
