Public debt grows 9.1% in 2011

    Public debt grows 9.1% in 2011 KYIV (QHA) - In 2011, the total public debt of Ukraine increased by 9.1%, or by $4.918 billion, to $59.216 billion. The corresponding data is posted on the website of Ukraine’s Finance Ministry, according to Interfax-Ukraine.
As reported, the aggregate state debt in December 2011 fell by 0.2%, or by $139 million, from $59.355 billion.
The aggregate domestic debt grew by 11.3%, or by $2.203 billion in 2011, to $21.741 billion, including a 2.6% or $545 million rise in December 2011, the ministry said.
The total foreign debt climbed by 7.8%, or by $2.714 billion in 2011, to $37.474 billion, whereas in December it shrank by 1.8%, or by $685 million.
The direct state debt last year fell from 29.6% of GDP to 27.2% of GDP, and the aggregate state debt dropped from 39.5% of GDP to 36% of GDP, the ministry reported.
