Latvia to help Crimea improve tourism law AQMESCIT/ SIMFEROPIL (QHA) - Latvian experts in the field of travel industry will assist Crimea in further improving a tourism regulatory framework in the region. The relevant decision was taken during a working meeting between the Crimean Resorts and Tourism Minister, Oleksandr Liiev, and representatives of the Latvian Ministry of Economy which was held in Riga.
At a meeting, Head of the Tourism Department of the Economy Ministry of Latvia, Marina Pankova, noted that the success of the tourist experience of Latvia is in creation of specialized marketing strategies for each of the tourism market.
In his turn, Mr. Liiev stressed the need for self-organization of representatives of the domestic travel industry. “It is impossible to achieve self-organization of the tourism business without legislative support. It was therefore decided to establish a working group, as well as to cooperate with the Entrepreneurship Competitiveness Department of the Latvian Ministry of Economy. This is a complex process and the experience of Latvia will be very helpful to us,” he said.
Besides this, Crimea and Latvia have agreed to jointly develop by March this year a turn-based strategy to improve service in Crimea.
“We are ready to learn from the experience of Latvia, to train staff of sanatoriums and hotels in Crimea,” the minister concluded.
