Entrepreneurs Council holds first meeting

AQMESCIT/ SIMFEROPIL (QHA) - The Entrepreneurs Council under the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea (VR ARC) has held its first meeting on Monday, the VR ARC’s press office has informed.
The meeting was chaired by the Speaker of the VR ARC, Volodymyr Konstiantynov.
The Council included members of the VR ARC Presidium Vitalii Nakhlupin and Rustam Temirgaliiev, Crimean deputies, heads of republican departments and institutions, as well as business entities and public associations representing small and medium business in Crimea.
The meeting considered organizational issues, main problems of organization and operation of small businesses in Crimea, as well as the ways of solving them and the priorities of business sectors as a whole.
The participants noted that the key factor for the development of small business can and should be normal relations between government and business.
In the present, many checks both fiscal and law enforcement agencies hinder the activities of small business sector, while in the civilized countries these structures, on the contrary, contribute to their work (for example, in Slovenia, at the opening of the outlet fire department at its own expense trains staff and provides all necessary equipment).
The meeting noted that all these and many other factors create an unhealthy situation in this area, which leads to a lack of transparency of business, the development of corruption mechanisms and thus prevent the development of small business in general and breed distrust of businessmen to authorities.
The problems of small business development in Crimea will be discussed at public parliamentary hearings on March 14 this year, the result of which will be the decision to limit unscheduled inspections of businesses during 2012.
Following the meeting, Crimean Speaker Volodymyr Konstiantynov instructed the Permanent Commission on Health-Resort Complex, Tourism and Entrepreneurship to develop changes to legislation aimed at facilitating the opening and closing a small business.
