WASHINGTON (QHA) -

According to the draft defense budget of the United States of America, $ 350 million will be allocated to Ukraine to assist with security assurances, the Ambassador of Ukraine in Washington Valeriy Chaly reported on his Facebook page.

Thus, the USA will allocate lethal weapons of defensive nature to Kyiv.

“US provide further support for Ukraine's defense capabilities. The US defense budget for 2018 provides $ 350 million for Ukraine's security policy and a significant expansion of its areas. The draft law authorizes the providing of lethal weapons of a defensive nature to our country," he wrote.

The draft budget also provides for the rehabilitation of wounded servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
in the US medical institutions.

Earlier, QHA reported that the White House approved the supply of lethal weapons to Ukraine, including the anti-tank complexes Javelin, but links this decision with the launch of a peacekeeping operation in the Donbas. Reportedly, Washington hopes to persuade the Ukrainian government to agree to a peacekeeping operation in the Donbas through assuring the arms transfers and, at the same time, giving a signal to Russia that the West will provide military support for Kyiv if the peace efforts fail to work.
