In 2017, 198 servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were killed in the fighting in the conflict zone on the Donbas, 1.300 military men were wounded.

The Personnel Center of the Armed Forces of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine provided QHA agency with the corresponding data.

“During 2017, in the area of ​​the antiterrorist operation in the territory of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, combat irretrievable losses comprised 198 military servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and 98 other servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were killed in the ATO zone,” the department informed.

The Ministry furted specified that at the end of last year they abandoned the term "non-combat losses", the term "other dead (killed)" is used instead.

The Ministry of Defense also noted that in the past year, 1.300 servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine suffered war wounds, and 178 other servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were injured in ATO.

Moreover, 80 servicemen have disappeared over the past year.

During the year 2017 about 37,000 people concluded contracts for the service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the results of 2016, the combat irretrievable losses of the armed Forces were 212 people, while the other (the so-called "non-combat losses") comprised 256 people. These figures do not include information about the losses of other security agencies - Security Service National Guard, Border Guard Service
