ANKARA -

In the north of the Syrian province of Aleppo in the immediate area of the border with Turkey the flags of Syria and Russia were placed.

The residents of the bordering Turkish villages Akchabaglar and Demirishik told the Anadolu agency that the flags are located along the perimeter of the border at various points in the Afrin district, controlled by Kurdish terrorists PYD.

Local sources inform that the purpose of hanging the flags is to protect the areas controlled by PYD terrorists and to prevent possible strikes by the Syrian opposition units and the Turkish Armed Forces.

Meanwhile, along with the ongoing construction of a modular concrete wall along the border with Syria, the Turkish army strengthened the line of defense on the stretch of the state border.
