The 1st Lift Pumping Station of the South Donbas Water pipeline stopped its operation again because of militants' shelling. Long-term repairs are expected, the Ministry of Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons reported on Twitter.
“The 1st Lift Pumping Station of the South Donbas Water pipeline has lost power due to the fighting. Two inputs are disabled, destruction is critical, long-term repair is needed.”
It is known that the South Donbas Water pipeline is stopped. The water supplying of Pokrovsk, Volnovakha, Dobropillia districts and Mariupol is under threat. Distractions of buildings and structures were recorded.
“The Ukrainian side is sure that this shelling is nothing but a provocation aimed at discrediting of the Ukrainian authorities and Armed Forces of Ukraine”, ATO headquarters commented on the situation.
According to the headquarters, this pumping station supplies nearly 600,000 people with water, as well as the Krasnoarmiska and Velikoanadolska filter stations, serving about 400,000 people in the south of the Donetsk region. The station also supplies with industrial water large enterprises of the region: the Avdiivka Coke and Chemical Plant and Kurakhivska TES (Power Station)
Earlier, on June 8, as a result of military operations, water supplying from the Siverskyi Donets-Donbas channel was stopped at Krasnoarmiska, Velikoanadolska, Mariupol and Donetsk filter stations. After the repair, on June 10, water supplying was restarted.
