Officers of the Security Service of Ukraine detained a former deputy of the Velyka Novosilka (Donetsk oblast) Regional Council on suspicion of infringement on Ukraine's territorial integrity and inviolability, SBU press office informed on Facebook.

“Detectives of the special services found out that the deputy organized and held a rally among the residents of the village of Velyka Novosilka in May 2014. The perpetrator publicly appealed with the messages of region separation from Ukraine and the creation of a "council of the Donetsk People's Republic," says the message.

After the so-called referendum, the deputy fled from the village and stayed in the south of the country. However, he was detained in the Zaporizhia region.

The ex-deputy was informed of suspicion of committing a crime under part 2 of Art. 110 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (infringement on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine).

Earlier, SBU exposed the former deputy of the Odesa City Council on the financing of terrorist groups in the Donbas. According to the information, the deputy who was on the international wanted list is currently residing in Russia and sending funds for the financing of the ORDLO terrorists.
