MOSCOW (QHA) -

The State Duma of Russia noted "the growing military threat from the Kyiv authorities" in the Donbas, according to the statement published today, October 18, on the website of the State Duma.

“An attempt of a new large-scale military offensive of Ukraine in the Donbas, together with new facts of murders and terrorist acts against its population, will receive an adequate response and will inevitably lead to catastrophic consequences,” the State Duma noted.

At the same time, Russia called events timed the Defender’s Day in Ukraine on October 14 “a neo-Nazi procession” and declared that the Ukrainian authorities are allegedly turning the country into a “springboard of the struggle against Russia and its people”.

“An example of this, according to the MPs, is, in particular, the attempts of the current Ukrainian authorities to “destroy the genuine Orthodox Church, legalize Ukrainian seceders supported by the Ukrainian state and “consecrate” the continuation of the war against Russians and Russian speakers in eastern Ukraine with their help,” the message of the State Duma press service said.

Also, the State Duma was concerned about the legislative initiatives of the Ukrainian MPs.

“Their norms are directly aimed at discrimination of the Russian-speaking population and in fact to a total ban on the use of the Russian language.”

Earlier, in the summer, during the NATO summit, member countries of the Alliance declared that Russia should withdraw its troops from the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. They also expressed support for resolving the conflict in the Donbas.
Russia responded to the call of NATO, declaring the Alliance a “useless military bloc grinding its teeth in Brussels”.
