Over the past day in the zone of the Anti Terrorist Operation (ATO), the militants opened fire 26 times on the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. As a result of the fighting, four Ukrainian servicemen were wounded, according to the ATO headquarters press service.
“The past day in the Donbas has not ended quietly. Yesterday, from midnight till dinnertime, Russian-terrorist groups adhered to the regime of silence, but then after 6 pm the enemy's activity increased significantly," the report said.
At the end of the day, the Luhansk direction was the most affected.
Here, militants several times attacked the Ukrainian positions in Novooleksandrivka, Novotoshkovske, and Stanitsa Luhanska with grenade launchers and small arms. At about 9 pm Ukrainian strongholds in Krymske came under mortar fire.
“As a result of these attacks, two Ukrainian soldiers were wounded. Moreover, in the evening, our defenders in Mayorsk and Avdiivka came under fire of the enemy’s grenade launcher,” headquarters informed.
At about 6 pm in Mariupol direction, as a result of the shelling of the ATO forces stronghold, another Ukrainian soldier was injured. In addition, hostile mortars of the 82 millimeters caliber shelled on strongholds in Pavlopol and Gnutovo.
“ATO forces responded to most of the enemy shelling with heavy fire. In general, over the past day, illegal armed groups have violated the ceasefire 26 times. As a result of the fighting, four Ukrainian soldiers were injured,” the press service reports.
In the Donetsk direction, terrorists fired at the fortifications in Zaitsevo and at Butovka mine from grenade launchers and heavy machine guns.
Earlier, during a military clashes with a hostile sabotage and reconnaissance group on July 27, Ukrainian soldiers captured weapons and communications equipment.
