KYIV (QHA) -

In the so-called "Donetsk People’s Republic", an officer of one of the motor rifle brigades of the "1st Army Corps" shot a civilian, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reports.

The incident occurred on the night of 28 to 29 April.

The killing of a civilian by the militant provoked outrage among the local population and led to protest actions, including the blocking of the movement of Russian invaders’ military equipment.

“The Russian occupation administration has taken measures to prevent the dissemination of information about the incident, which increased the discontent of the local population with the Russian military presence in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine. The most active citizens, who protested against the arbitrariness of the Russian occupiers, were detained by the so-called "Ministry of State Security of the DPR," the intelligence reports said.

Earlier, the UN issued a report on the number of victims among the civilian population during four years of war in Donbas.

According to the coordinator of the "Information Resistance" group, People's Deputy of Ukraine Dmitry Tymchuk, despite the cease-fire arrangements since March 30, the intensity of fire strikes on positions of Ukrainian troops and settlements on the territory controlled by Ukraine has increased.
