Over the past day of August 27, two servicemen of the Joined Forces Operation were wounded as a result of ceasefire violations by the Russian occupation forces in the Donbas.

According to the press center of the JFO, 26 fire attacks by militants on Ukrainian positions were recorded, including 4 from weapons banned by Minsk agreements.

The militants opened aimed fire from mortars of 120 and 82 mm caliber, tanks, grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms.

“The positions of the Joined Forces in the vicinity of settlements of Stanytsia Luhanska, Krymske, Zolote, Luhanske, Avdiivka, Novomykhailivka, Krasnohorivka, Hnutove, Pavlopil, Lebedynske, Vodiane and Shyrokine came under fire. The enemy used mortars in the Luhansk direction near the settlement of Krymske, as well as in the Mariupol direction - near the settlements Hnutove and Lebedynske. Near Lebedynske enemy again used tanks after a long break. Two soldiers of the United forces were wounded.”

According to intelligence, three invaders have been destroyed over the day and four more wounded.

Earlier, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchinov said that Ukraine plans to allocate about 200 billion hryvnias for the defense sector in 2019. Among the priority directions of financing for the coming year is the purchase of missile systems and complexes, artillery weapons, as well as the strengthening of air defense and combat aviation.
