Over the past day, August 16, in the area of the Joint Forces Operation the militants opened fire 30 times on the positions of Ukrainian troops from the weapons banned under Minsk armies, the headquarters of the JFO reported on Facebook page.

“Russian occupation troops opened targeted fire from grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms, as well as the weapons of infantry fighting vehicles in certain directions. They also used rocket launchers BM-21 "Grad" and mortars of 120 mm and 82 mm caliber. The attacks were carried out on the defenders of the settlements Krymske, Novozvanivka, Svitlodarsk, Luhansk, Novgorod, Krasnohorivka, Mariinka, Novotroitsky, Hnutove, Lebedynske, Pavlopil, Vodyane and Shyrokine,” the report said.

The occupiers fired on the Ukrainian defenders of Svitlodarsk from the Grads and 120-mm mortars. Defenders of Krymske, Luhanske and Novhorodske were fired from mortars of 82 mm caliber.

“No losses among the personnel of the Joined Forces. According to the intelligence service, two invaders were injured," the JFO headquarters informed.

Earlier, Deputy Minister for Temporary Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons of Ukraine Yuriy Hrymchak stated that the Russian army "will choke on its own blood" if it undertakes a new invasion of Ukraine. According to him, in recent years the Ukrainian army has changed greatly due to its equipment and weapons.
