French deputies of the local level from the Bouches-du-Rhône department in the Provence region flew from Marseilles to Moscow on June 22. Then they will travel to the occupied Donetsk to visit the leader of "DPR" terrorists Aleksandr Zakharchenko, La Provence reported.

The group of politicians includes the Member of the Municipal Council of the Vitrolles commune, the representative of the Republicans Christian Borrelli, the Member of the Council of the Bouches-du-Rhône department from the "Get up, France!" party Christian Pujol and her husband, the President of the local branch of the “National Center of Independent and Peasants” party of the Bouches-du-Rhône Department Uber Fayyar.

 The purpose of the visit is "to support the Russian army, which is constantly bombarded by Ukraine, despite Minsk agreements," La Provence reported.

According to the publication, the French deputies will stay in Moscow from June 22 to June 24. They planned a number of meetings, in particular, with Leonid Slutsky, Chairman of the Russian State Duma International Affairs Committee. Deputies intend to meet with the head of the DPR terrorist organization Aleksandr Zakharchenko in the  occupied Donetsk.

Earlier, French President Emmanuel Macron promised to strengthen sanctions against the Russian Federation in case of escalation of the conflict in Donbas.
