Militants have shelled the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the area of the Anti-Terrorist Operation, three Ukrainian servicemen were killed as a result, ATO press office reported.

“Over the last 24 hours, on December 17, 14 shellings at the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine by Russian-terrorist forces were recorded. 
In half of the cases, Ukrainian servicemen suppressed the fire activity of the invaders. Unfortunately, three Ukrainian servicemen were killed, as a result of enemy attacks,” the message said.

In the Luhansk sector, militants shelled the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Svitlodarsk arc near Luhansk, Zaitseve and Travneve from heavy artillery, namely mortars of 152 mm caliber, grenade launchers and machine guns.

In the Priazovye sector, settlements of Lebedynske and Pavlopol were shelled.

“In the second half of the day the militants also violated ceasefire by shelling at Gnutove from infantry fighting vehicle. In other areas of our defense, it was unquiet near Kamenka, where the invaders used the entire range of infantry weapons,” the press center noted.

Earlier, 4 Ukrainian servicemen had been wounded as a result of the shelling. Militants conducted 31 shellings at the Ukrainian Armed Forces positions in the Donbas during 24 hours of  December 17. In Mayske and Novoluhanske sectors, the militants violated the ceasefire regime by using grenade launchers and machine guns.
