The situation in the ATO zone remained unsettled at Easter, the press service of the ATO headquarters reports. Over the past day, Russian-occupation forces fired at the positions of the ATO forces 29 times. The main strikes hit Maryinka, Shirokino and Vodyanoe.
"The militants fired mortars of 120 mm and 82 mm caliber, grenade launchers of various systems and heavy machine guns, at the defenders of Maryinka in the Primorsky direction. Moreover, enemy snipers were looking for their targets at the area. Militants shelled the Ukrainian Marines near Vodyanoe from anti-tank grenade launchers and machine guns of large caliber. Marines in Shirokino were fired from the arms of infantry fighting vehicles and small arms. According to the defenders of Pavlopol, the enemy fired from the grenade launchers, and the defenders of Gnutovo and Chermalyk came under fire of large-caliber machine guns," the ATO headquarters report says.
The militants also opened fire from grenade launchers of various systems and machine guns of large caliber in the Donetsk direction near the villages of Avdiivka and Peski. The base points near Luhansk were shelled from grenade launchers. The village of Opytnoe was shelled with machine guns, and Kamenka fired from small arms.
Near Troitskoe, enemy snipers were activated. In the Luhansk direction the militants fired at the ATO positions in the Lobachevoy area from the automatic grenade launchers, and small arms near Novoaleksandrovka.
Despite the attacks, the Ukrainian military continue to adhere to the ceasefire regime and do not open fire in response.
