During the day of April 17, militants of terrorist groups in the zone of the Antiterrorist Operation (ATO) in the east of Ukraine conducted 45 attacks at the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, as a result of which one Ukrainian soldier was killed and three others were injured, the press center of the ATO headquarters reported.

“Over the past day, the Russian-occupation troops continued to ignore the regime of a complete ceasefire, carrying out 45 attacks at the positions of Ukrainian defenders ... Unfortunately, due to enemy fire, one Ukrainian soldier died. Three more of our defenders were wounded. The injured servicemen were promptly taken to medical institutions and provided the necessary medical assistance," reads the report.

On the Luhansk direction, the militants shelled the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces from the forbidden 152 mm artillery, infantry and sniper weapons near Zaitseve.

“In addition, the invaders fired 120 mm mortar shells on the defenders of Troitsky, they used mortars of 82 mm caliber and grenade launchers in the area of Novooleksandrivka, and large-caliber machine guns against the defenders of Luhanske.”

In Donetsk direction, the terrorists opened fire from banned 120 mm mortars, heavy machine guns and small arms near Vodiane and Hnutove, the illegal armed forces also used mortars of 82 mm caliber and grenade launchers near Novotroitsk.

“The grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms were used to fire on the defenders of Avdiivka, Butovka mine, Pishchevik, Verkhnyotoretske, Talakivka, Pavlopil and Kamenka. Militants fired from the armored vehicles near Vodiane and Pavlopil, from heavy machine guns in the area of the Opytne and Lebedinsky, and from small arms near Shyrokyne and Nevelske. Moreover, our strong points near Hnutove and Lebedinsky were fired by an enemy sniper.”

QHA reported that on April 15 the militants fired on the Armed Forces of Ukraine 59 times, as a result of which two Ukrainian soldiers were injured. The injured servicemen were taken to medical institutions and provided the necessary medical assistance.
