During the day of April 23 the militants of terrorist groups in the Donbas fired on the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces 44 times, resulting in injuries to five Ukrainian soldiers, the press center of the ATO headquarters reported.

“Four Ukrainian soldiers were injured carrying out military tasks. Another one of our defender suffered a military trauma. The injured servicemen were taken to medical institutions and provided all necessary medical assistance," reads the report.

On the Luhansk direction near Troitsky, the militants opened fire from 120 and 82 mm mortars and grenade launchers banned by the Minsk accords, and from 82 mm mortar near Popasna and Novooleksandrivka.

“Furthermore, defenders of Novozvanivka came under the fire from grenade launchers and heavy machine guns and from anti-aircraft guns and small arms in Novoselivka.”

On the Donetsk direction, the terrorists fired at the positions of the APU from 120 mm mortar near Vodiane, and from 82 mm mortar at the Butovka mine.

“Also militants used the grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms to fire on the defenders of Verkhnyotoretske, Vodiane, Hnutove, Kamianka, Avdiivka, Butovka mine and Talakivka. Also from the large-caliber machine guns our base points in the area of Pavlopil, Marinka and Lebedinsky were fired, near Nevelsky, Pavlopil, Lebedinsky and Pishchevik militants fired from small arms, and near Krasnohorivka and Marinka a sniper fire was recorded.”

QHA reported that during the day of April 21, the occupiers in the Donbas region carried out 47 shellings at the positions of Ukrainian defenders, using weapons prohibited under the Minsk agreements. As a result of the actions of terrorists, one AFU fighter died, two were injured and two more were wounded.
