KYIV (QHA) -

The humanitarian group in Minsk failed to reach an agreement on the exchange of criminals for Ukrainians who are being held captive in ORDLO, the First Vice-Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Irina Gerashchenko informed on her Facebook page.

“We have not heard a response from the representatives of the Russian Federation to the proposal for transferring to them 23 Russians convicted of crimes against the Ukrainian state, in exchange for the liberation of Ukrainians, political prisoners of the Kremlin. The Russians are in their position: We are not present there. In turn, the representatives of the ORDLO, fully controlled by the Russian Federation, include those Russians in lists of militants, demand the Ukrainian side to immediately release the Berkut officers, terrorists, Russians, they demand to deliver more than 80 criminals to them and say that no more than 15 of our citizens will be given to us. This is unacceptable," she wrote.

According to her, the Ukrainian side also made a correct and compromise proposal for the release of Ukrainians, who are in captivity in ORDLO, which could have passed very quickly, but the Russian side opposed it.

"The problem is the lack of information about many hostages, they are simply hidden in prisons and we are not given any confirmation of their keeping in remand. There is no progress in the search for missing persons, Russians categorically refuse to create a mechanism with the ICRC to search for the missing (the wording of refusals: We are not present there). Negotiations were also inconclusive on the opening of the exit and entrance checkpoint "Zolote", which was blocked by militants," Gerashchenko wrote.

Earlier, Irina Gerashchenko, jointly with Ukrainian Ombudsman Lyudmila Denisova, held a meeting with the families of political prisoners of the Kremlin, hostages in the occupied territories in the ORDLO and the missing.
