Two American aircrafts made reconnaissance flights off the coast of the Russian-occupied Crimea.

According to Air Force/Navy Monitoring resource Mil Radar, a patrol aircraft Boeing P-8 Poseidon of the US Navy flew over the Black Sea. This aircraft is designed to detect and destroy submarines. The plane first conducted reconnaissance near Novorossiysk and Gelendzhik (Russia), and then headed to Ukrainian peninsula annexed by Russia.

USA conducted reconnaissance close to the south-western coast of Crimea with the help of an unmanned aerial vehicle RQ-4B Global Hawk. First the UAV flew along the line of demarcation in the Donbas.

QHA reported that on January 29 the US EP-3E Aries II long-range reconnaissance aircraft conducted a long reconnaissance flight over the Black Sea, in particular, near the Crimea. Sometimes the aircraft approached the occupied Sevastopol for a distance of about 40 km.
