Kyiv (QHA) - The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has reported that the situation in Egyptian resort cities is calm and does not pose a threat to the life or health of tourists. Director of the Information Policy Department of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Yevhen Perebyinis said this at a briefing in Kyiv on Tuesday, reports Ukrinform. "The situation in resort cities in Egypt remains calm. Our embassy has not received any reports that mass protests that could have posed a threat to the safety of foreign tourists will be held in these cities," he said. According to the diplomat, the country's major airports in Cairo, Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh are operating smoothly, and there are no flight disruptions. "The Ukrainian Embassy in Egypt has not received any applications from Ukrainians about emergencies due to the worsening of the situation in the country," he added. Perebyinis said that the Ukrainian embassy was monitoring the situation. "If the situation significantly deteriorates and there is a threat to the life and health of Ukrainian citizens, decisions on evacuation will be made," he said. At the same time, the diplomat said, the Foreign Ministry still warns Ukrainians about the danger of staying in the country and advises them not to travel there without urgent necessity.
