SIMFEROPOL / AQMESCIT (QHA) -

Occupied Crimea is not a popular destination for New Year holidays among Russians, according to information on the website of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR).

“The number of tourists' requests for New Year's tours in Crimea in some of companies is almost equal to the Sochi index, but the actual sales of winter Crimea are not actually reached, therefore, the region did not get into the top direction from tour operators on sales,” reads the statement.

The most popular direction for the New Year among the Russians was the city of Sochi (the Russian Federation).

QHA reported that the so-called deputies of the "Crimean parliament" approved the draft law "On the introduction of resort fees" at two readings. Introducing the document, "the head of the parliament," Vladimir Konstantinov said that the law was drafted in connection with the adoption of the Russian law "On conducting an experiment on the development of resort infrastructure in the Republic of Crimea, the Altai Territory, the Krasnodar Territory and the Stavropol Territory" on July 29, 2017.

The document also proposes to set the resort fee rate from May 1 to September 30 in the amount of 10 rubles per day.
