Russia to assume Crimea natural preserves

Russian Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment is developing a draft decree on assuming Crimean preserves, UNN reported.

The decree concerns in particular Crimean, Yalta, Opuksky, Karadag, Kazantip nature reserves.

Among the nature reserves that are to be assumed are “Hapkhalsky", "Karkinitsky", "Arabatsky", "Baydarsky", "Astana marshes" and "Ayu-Dag" preserves, along with Grand Canyon of Crimea, and the others.

The total area of Crimean preserves makes up 155 thousand ha, that is about 5.7 % of the total area of the peninsula.

Russian annexted Crimean peninsula on March, folowing all-Crimean referendum.
